Note

CHAST

Children’s Hygiene and Sanitation Training (CHAST) programme operates in the self-declared republic of Somaliland (North West Somalia). The CHAST methodology is adapted from the PHAST approach by CARITAS Luxembourg and CARITAS Switzerland. It is used in hygiene programmes in Somalia and is an adaptation of the Child-to-Child six-step methodology. It was presented in a School Sanitation and Hygiene Education Seminar in Delft and its use was at that time under discussion with the Somali Ministry of Education. The paper is very useful, and repays study.
