Note
Widespread dissemination of materials accompanied by training
Three NGOs, The Good Neighbour Society, World Vision Mongolia and the Norwegian Lutheran Misson have been involved in the production of Child-to-Child material, the organisation of Child-to-Child training and the founding and monitoring of Child-to-Child clubs. Originally conceived as two separate initiatives there is now cooperation between programmes which receive funding from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and a Christian Doctors’ association in the Netherlands (MMM).
Materials printed in 2002 include translation and adaptations of eleven of the Child-to-Child readers, the Resource Books 1 and 2, a chart game and posters showing the six-step approach.
Activities are reported to be spreading throughout all provinces and have the full support of the National Board of Children. A number of secondary schools in Ulan Bator are involved and in 2004 a seminar was run for 300 teachers and medical doctors with a view to introducing the approach to the majority of schools in the capital.
