Government (Teacher Training) initiative supported by Redd Barna (Norwegian SCF)
Activities began in 2000 and have continued. Health-based activities take place both in and out of the classroom and the six-step approach is used. The department of teacher training develops training packages and runs workshops. In 2001 schools in three provincial areas had been selected and activities spread to others. Schools make their own action plans. Though considerable progress was reported in involving parents and community works little joint action between health and education was reported in 2001.
