Jordan

Relevant background information

Jordan is a new addition to the Child-to-Child (CtC) Directory of activities and this is the first written information that the Trust has received on activities within the country. Save the Children Jordan have woven CtC into schools through their local partners and this work is continuing. We welcome any further information on specific CtC projects from both international and locally based NGOs working in Jordan.

Save the Children

Save the Children (SC) have been involved in implementing and promoting CtC since 1998 and have done so both directly and through local partners. They have adapted materials both from the Child-to-Child Trust and from the Arab Resource Collective (ARC), the former being based in Lebanon. Activities have centred around health promotion but have also covered such topics as bullying and bad language. Within the schools that have introduced CtC, CtC has been integrated into aspects of the curriculum including the teaching of Maths and English. Parental and community involvement has also taken place. Read more
