UNICEF support

UNICEF in Tehran has supported Child-to-Child activities.

An important seminar was organised in 1997 and facilitated by Dr Indu Balagopal of the South India network following which the first edition of Children for Health, was translated into Farsi. Two participants from Iran attended the 2005 Child-to-Child International Course for Facilitators and were keen to start Child-to-Child programmes in Bam (which was devastated by an earthquake). In November, 2005, Dr. Tashmin Kassam-Khamis facilitated a 3-day workshop in Tehran and conducted a qualitative assessment of a health education manual developed by UNICEF.
