Directory of Child-to-Child Activities Worldwide

>> Access the directory

Introduction

Welcome to the first on-line edition of the Child-to-Child Directory. We hope it will enable project personnel to be aware of other Child-to-Child initiatives operating in their own country or region and encourage networking between projects. Another advantage of going on-line is that it is much easier to include details of new projects and update information on ongoing projects as they develop. To date, we have received details of the activities of 100+ projects in over 40 countries.* We expect this number to increase as more projects send in a profile of their activities. Please ask us for a questionnaire if you would like your project to be included in the Directory.
(Contact: ccenquiries@ioe.ac.uk)

*PLEASE NOTE THAT NOT ALL PROJECT PROFILES ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE AS THE ONLINE DIRECTORY IS STILL UNDER CONTRUCTION.

What Each Entry Includes and How the Entries are Organized

Each entry contains a full postal address, fax and e-mail and website (where available). Information about each project is entered under main headings for clarity and to allow users to locate subject areas of particular interest, for example: use of Child-to-Child methodology, monitoring and evaluation of activities. Projects appear in alphabetical order by project title and country.

Searching the Directory

You can access the Child-to-Child directory by clicking on the 'access the directory' hyperlinks at the top and bottom of this page. However, before doing this, please read the information provided below which will help you to search the database.

There are several ways of searching the Child-to-Child directory. Firstly, you can search for projects by country, Indian state, or standardized keyword. Once you have clicked on 'access the directory', simply use the drop down menus you see on the screen to search using these different categories.

Alternatively, you can search by non-standard keyword. In the box provided, enter any keyword you wish to retrieve all project entries containing that keyword. You can only enter one keyword at a time. Every word that has been entered in the project entries is potentially a 'keyword', so you can use any word you wish. However, please try to use specific keywords (preferably less commonly used words), as this will ensure that you retrieve entries which are relevant to your enquiry. Before entering your keyword, remove the star which appears on the left side of the keyword box.

If you would like to retrieve all of the project entries currently entered in the Child-to-Child directory, simply click the 'go' button situated next to the non-standard keyword box. A list of all of the project entries will appear.

Networking

We recommend that you address requests for further information and/or materials produced by individual projects to the projects concerned. This will be the most efficient way of finding out more and following up on points of interest.

Acknowledgements

We would like to thank project personnel for helping to compile this Directory by responding to the questionnaire and providing comprehensive information on their work. We apologize in advance for any incorrect information that may have crept in during editing. We ask that you let us know of any mistakes as soon as possible so that they can be quickly rectified.
