Note 1

Asociación Ak’ Tenamit

This small NGO works largely in very rural areas and with isolated Maya/Q’eqchi communities. They reported Child-to-Child activities in 2001 with specific goals of ‘awakening the conscience of children about health issues. Children are encouraged not only to learn important health skills but also to think of solutions to specific problems.’

The present website http:www.aktenamit.org does not specifically mention Child-to-Child activities though they can be inferred through the text in sections on Health Education and ‘Let’s educate the girls’.
